Situated at the foot of the Alps, Trentino region enjoys a fair climate for the cultivation of rare grape varieties. At its centre, the Piana Rotaliana, a viticultural plain par excellence, is the cradle of the most prestigious oenological products of this area and it is known for its lush vineyards cultivated with the pergola system, typical of Trentino. This pergola expanse is crossed by the streams Noce and the river Adige. It consists of a wide alluvial plain and it has fertile, generous and always well-drained soil, rich in calcareous and porphyritic elements. The surrounding mountains slowly slope down to sunny, marvellous hills, which are ideal for viticulture. Here, between the Dolomites and the Garda lake, the continental climate meets the Mediterranean and such combination proves to be very salubrious. The mildness of summers alongside with the considerable temperature range between night and day greatly contribute to the complexity of the aromas of wines.
In this area, viticulture and the care of the cellars have been the prevailing activities for centuries. Thanks to such settled traditions, to the deep-rooted expertise of producers and to the state-of-the-art technology, the wines of Trentino are well known and appreciated worldwide.
