Founded in 1974, Dosio is an established estate in the panorama of great Piedmonte wines, and is located around the hills of La Morra, in a spectacular landscape.

In the heart of Langhe, and situated 500 metres above sea level, the estate enjoys the beautiful surroundings of the plains of Cuneo and Turin and protected by the Alps at the background. The estate spreads over 11 hectares, and includes prestigious wines, such as Barolo and Barbaresco, as well as more traditional growing of Arneis, Dolcetto and Barbera.

The pre-existing farmhouse, dating back to the middle of the 18th century, has been completely renovated and new vineyards have been added. All the wine-making process occurs in the underground cellar, where the wine is fermented and refined.

The tradition is well kept in Dosio following the footsteps of Beppe Dosio. The estate has a sparing use of technology, to create a continuity between the past and the present.

    Tasting Notes:

High in the hills of Roero over an altitude of 250 metres, the Arneis grape can be quite tricky to grow (Arneis means "little rascal") and be picked with a maximum ripeness at the end of September. It then goes through a traditional temperature-controlled fermentation before being left to refine in lees for 4 months with regular stirring (bâtonnage).

The Roero Arneis is mineral, with clean notes of chamomile and floral notes. The palate is fresh and crisp.

Will match with spring vegetable salad, grilled fish and asparagus.

Italian Speciality Trota alla Salvia (Baked trout with sage)

Located within La Morra area, the Dolcetto d’Alba is an everyday drinking wine to be enjoyed rather young. It is full fruit such as plums and blackberries but with an excellent body and very soft tannins.

This wine is for an informal occasion.

    Tasting Notes:

Produced around the town of Alba in the Langhe region, Dosio’s Barbera d’Alba comes from above 400 metres in Diana d’Alba area.

A very pleasant wine which can be also be left in the cellar a few more years.

    Tasting Notes:

Made with equal amount of Barbera and Nebbiolo, the "Momenti" was created after one of Dosio’s client wanted two of his favourite wines in the same bottle in order to reach, I quote, ecstasy.

This is Dosio’s most popular wine which allies the depth and the complexity of the Nebbiolo with the elegance of Barbera.

Will match all meats, poultry, stews, meat-based pastas.

Italian Speciality Fritto Misto alla Piedmontese (Piedmontese rural stew made of veal, liver, chicken, sausage )

This 100% merlot wine takes its name from the vineyards it comes from in La Morra. Harvested early October, refined over 24 months in French oak barrels with an extra 12 months in bottle prior to release.

"Eventi" is showing great depth and strength, with the classic Merlot bouquet, full of red berries, such as blackcurrant and raspberry. The palate is generous and smooth and a pleasant fruity finale.

Will complement red meat, duck and game.

    Tasting Notes:

Made with the same Nebbiolo grape as the Barolo, located closer to the sea,  Barberesco area has a slightly more maritime influenced terroir. It tends to have softer tannins than its close neighbour.

Lingering bouquet of ripe fruits, dense and earthy, Barbaresco reveals hints of spices and generosity matched with a long finale.

Will match braised meat, lamb, game such as venison and wild boar.

Italian Speciality  Osso Bucco (braised shin of veal with vegetable, herbs and tomatoes)
